Play
Games shall be Singles, Pairs, Triples or Fours.
Games shall be for the duration of 10 ends.
A coin shall be tossed to see who starts a game, the winner decides whether to go first or second.
The jack is placed on the Jack line by the team who delivers the first bowl.
Bowls are played alternatively.
When delivering a bowl the whole of one foot must be over or in contact with the mat.
Any bowl that touches the centre block to be removed and the centre block replaced.
Any bowl failing to reach the Dead Bowl line must be removed before the next bowl is played.
A bowl which touches the Jack in its original course is called a “toucher” and chalked before the delivery of the next bowl.
Any Bowl that reaches the Ditch line shall be removed except for a “toucher”.
Bowls are allowed to move the Jack during the course of play.
If the Jack is knocked off the carpet by a bowl then the end is declared "dead" and replayed. Each team can knock the Jack off the carpet twice with no penalty. After this, each time a team knocks the "Jack" off the carpet there is a 3 shot penalty.
If any bowl is knocked onto or over the Ditch line it shall be removed, except for any bowls which have been chalked “touchers”.
If any bowl or the Jack is moved inadvertently by a player or marker then it should be replaced in its original position.
Scoring
The number of shots in each end is the number of bowls from one team nearer to the jack than the nearest of the opponents bowls.
If the shot bowls cannot be agreed then bowls should be measured to determine the score.
The team winning an end places the next Jack and delivers the first bowl.
In the event of a game being tied, a deciding end to be played to determine who wins.
Scores are to be recorded after every end by a nominated person.
